Running a business requires a lot of hard work and effort. In fact, more than 80% of small business owners work over 40 hours per week

While this may seem worthwhile in the grand scheme of things, especially if it allows you to build a name for yourself within your chosen industry, it is important that you’re able to spend your time (and energy) wisely. After all, this means that you can concentrate on the tasks that require your specific expertise and skill set while allowing others to take care of themselves.

With that in mind, here are some low-cost ways to grow your business!

Drum up employee morale. According to a recent study, happy employees are 20% more productive than unhappy employees. As such, working to drum up employee morale is one of the easiest, low-effort ways to grow your business, as it means that productivity and efficiency will increase alongside their motivation levels. This is also a great way to boost employee retention

There are many different ways in which you can elevate employee morale, such as by developing a wellness scheme, handing out rewards such as employee of the month, or simply letting them know that you appreciate them!

Outsource. Outsourcing is perhaps the most obvious low-effort way to grow your business, as it means that you are filling any skill gaps within your team without having to go through the effort of hiring additional staff or learning how to do something new yourself. Furthermore, there’s no end to the roles you can outsource. For example, if your team are pros when it comes to customer service or product development, but don't know the first thing about IT management, then you could look into outsourced it services.

Develop a loyalty program. A loyalty scheme can also help you grow your business by incentivizing repeat purchases from current customers and encouraging prospective customers/buyers to join in on the fun. In fact, a recent study found that “90% of loyalty program owners experience a positive ROI, with the average ROI being 4.8x.” Despite this, setting up (and running) a loyalty scheme requires very little effort on your end. For example, it could be that you send out emails with exclusive discount codes every few months.

Ask your customers for feedback. When growing your business, you invest more than just your time - you’re also spending a lot of money, whether you’re developing a new product or launching a new marketing campaign. In order to ensure your money is well spent (and save time on research), you should always be sure to seek out feedback from your customers first. This way, you feel a lot more confident in any investments you make, as you know that they are taking you in the right direction, especially when it comes to increasing customer satisfaction. For example, while you may think that your social media pages need an upgrade, your customers may be more concerned with your website - and addressing this issue first helps to keep them on your good side!
